We eat varied types of food products, some of which are healthy and some not. Having a healthy diet is important, it helps to avoid diseases. Sometimes we tend to have junk food and other oily food that often leads to health problems such as obesity, depression, digestive problems, heart diseases and many others.
What food does to our body?
The food we eat is the primary and most important part of our lives. It gives our bodies the required nutrition for us to work properly. If we eat too much, we are putting our body at risk, as it causes overweight and malnourishment. This increases the chance of developing more diseases such as type 2 diabetics, arthritis etc. We must eat food that is rich in protein and nutrients. This allows our cells to perform important physical functions which are also necessary for the growth and development of our body. The metabolic process declines or even comes to stop when the cells don’t get their requirements.
This makes us think about nutrition beyond good and bad foods as well as calories and grams which again leads us to think about the food that needs to be included in our diet rather than food that needs to be avoided. Sometimes our diets don’t give us all the nutrition our body needs. Processed food may have chemically altered fat and sugar which might not go down well with the body leading to severe diseases and conditions. To avoid all of these problems we need to bring about a necessary balance of nutrients in what we eat.
Eating food that is too rich in proteins or too rich in calories is not going to help. What we need to do is eat only what is required and maintain a balance between the same. Proper physical activity along with right food keeps our body and mind in good health.
